Endeavour Quay Sections

Endeavour Quay is an exclusive 97 lot island neighbourhood accessed via a twin carriageway hump back bridge which carries special lighting and planting. Hoppers have lifted the level of landscaping presentation on the island with planted median strips, large trees and an ornate compass rose styled roundabout.

Exclusive Features

Features to be incorporated exclusively for the island’s residents include a private swimming beach, tennis court, conveniently located loading jetties, boat launching ramp, and children’s playground. On the opening day, four sections were sold and another 10 are now under negotiation.

Sections - Airpark

These sites are designed to appeal to aviators as many enable pilot / home owners to taxi on to their own land and create a hangar within their home if desired.

The airfield is currently in grass and 1400m long. Plans for a sealed strip and commercial services are being investigated.

In planning:

Marlin Waters - Comprehensive residential housing and boat harbour.

Hoppers are releasing plans and calling for expressions of interest in a self contained luxury waterfront complex to be known as Marlin Waters in which there is planned, two distinctively different types of homes available:

“The Boat Houses at Marlin Waters”
Residences will include water front villas overlooking a boutique boat harbour offering berths of up to 30m.

“The Town Houses at Marlin Waters”
Two level town houses are planned on non waterfront lots featuring private courtyards and double garaging.

Facilities proposed for the exclusive use of Marlin Waters residents include a tennis court, children’s playground and social pavilion. Other amenities planned include a private beach, launching ramp, and lock up trailer boat storage facility.

Retirement village

New Zealand’s first waterfront retirement village with canals around the bulk of the site is planned for construction commencement of first next year. It will be a 255 unit village offering private beach, jetties, swimming pool and tennis courts in addition to the usual amenities of a modern retirement village.  Registrations of interest are being accepted.

Marine precinct

Dry Stack boat storage - A large dry stack building catering for craft up to 10 metres in length is planned for construction in the near future.

Boutique tourism focused retail island

An island is planned for construction within the next few stages to house boutique tourist retail activities such as cafes, bars, galleries plus arts and crafts industries.
This pedestrian (friendly) only island will be free of motor vehicles.  Large and small boats access will be (encouraged) available via the canal network.

Expressions of interest are sought from retailers and business people who wish to take space in this type of environment.

Hotel

An international standard tourist hotel is planned for construction on a 2 h.a. site adjoining Joan Gaskell Drive and close to the airfield.
